just FYI – the antenna doesn’t need to be sticking out. When i had the scorpio alarm system, i was testing how far i can arm and dis-arm it. Today I really have it ripped out (I dropped the remote in the toilet when i was drunk and taking a leak haha) I’m kind-of looking into something a small more convenient to my needs (no remote) becuase…
A) remote is usually connected to your key which rattles like a bitch at 12k rpms
B) opportunity of losing/dropping/breaking it
i have a scorpio alarm (the 500 version) and the battery life sucks ass!
May possibly I place this on my street legal dirtbike?
Just dont see the feature for remote start on a motorcycle. warm up periods should happen when the operator of the bike is near. The only two reasons for remote start I’ve seen is to warm up (which is what is used for cars in winter) and the coolness thing. I seldom see someone riding a cycle in snow and installing a remote start so it can heat up for them. (this isnt to you BMWfrik – it’s addressed to all the people speaking about remote start)
side-note, didnt know about the engine disabler
some bikes also have a engine disabler when its in gear!
i see your antenna poking out of your rear seat ha ha
the only reason i may possibly reckon of is to tell small kids your magic and all you gotta do it say allakazam allakazoo
turn on this bike,
so i can go to a poo.
and when i get back,
it better be on,
so it will be ready
and i can be-gone!
lol
nothing is impossible.. but too much of a head-ache for me. see no point to auto-start
i hope you realise now
that it is possible to have this
it just wont start if it is in gear.
better hope your bikes not in gear!!!
proximity? no – perimeter, yes… you place it under your seat and turn it up on high.. when you set the alarm (like i did) if you get “near” the bike, it will start to chirp like it did.. if you keep permanent around it for a minute, it will then set off the alarm..
sorry i’ve never hooked up the engine start (scorpio never came with one..)
does this specific alarm have a proximity sensor
?
and where to wire up the turn signals
yo i have an alarm with the starter engine thing can u please tell me where the starter wire goes to help me start it up
nope – this is would very terrible for a bike because if you turned it off in 1st gear or something walked by and just shifted it down and you didnt know – when you remote start it, well lets say it will be ghost rider for a sec. (not a excellent thought)
Does it have a Remote start feature and Remote shut-off?
Conundrum solved 3 days ago. Finally
Perimeter sensor is still in midpoint of seat, but I went it small bit.
What is the model year of your bike?
Yes, its in the midpoint of seat. The perimeter sensor sensivity is on minimum setting but it doesnt help. Will test again sometime before school. Perimeter sensor is vital because people at school are so childlish and I want that they dont touch my bike.
(it will still be ringing but hey i ripped mine out of my bike in a public place and no one really questioned whatever thing) so test test test..
so take your time, reckon it thru and do it once.. then when your all finished – test it out in your school (i got a huge high school, so just make sure it can range from one end to the other) get a buddy to help ya. because if it doesnt send to your remote while it’s being triggered, someone (like me) can just remove the alarm completely and just throw it off the bike
also test out your alarm system before you really let it hang out at school.. make sure it will reach that range. my alarm really broke (the remote in my hand, too much vibration from the bike – probbly just rattled the sh*t out of it) so need to buy a new one, and the other conundrum is my range on it.. it doesnt go very far for me. but once again – mine was in the glove compartment..
turn down the sensitivity – i had the perimeter sensor on 5 and i sat on the bike and had to go it before it set off. did you place it in the midpoint of the seat? i know alot of bikes can be different – also instead of putting your alarm in the cargo space, i would rethink it and place it on the fairing itself (despise to say it but it’s way louder on fairing then in the golve compartment)
Vermino:
Do you have a conundrum with perimeter sensor like I have.
Sometimes even a bee or other insect can start the warning chirp or sets off the alarm?
Many era some insect starts the warning chirps of the alarm when insect touches my bike. That’s small bit annoying because im plotting to take my bike(500cc) to school too, and it’s not fun if the alarm chirps when no one isnt near my bike.
thats pretty cool thanks now i know what to get for mine
