It beeps like that when your battery is low. Replace the battery. It should be a 9 volt. It is also possible that your smoke detector went bad too. They should be changed every 10 years anyway. Buy a new one that is the same brand. There should be a couple of wires in the back of the smoke detector that unplugs. Swap them out. Any idiot who tells you that a proper smoke detector is "not worth it" should be libel for any law suits when you don't wake up during a fire.
