How do I stop my electric fire alarm from beeping really loud when the power goes off/on?
So my only dread of the power going out is our stupid fire alarms .(connected to the electricity of the house) So when the power goes out, it makes two terrifying chirps, and the scariest part is when the power randomly comes back on: The fire alarms make one HUGE LOUD terrifying beep!! Is there any solution that will get rid of this beeping due to power outages? I don’t like being frightened ![]()

we had the same conundrum.
just rip the cord out and buy a battery operated one. not worth the hassle
Your smoke detector has a battery back up. It beeps like that when your battery is low. Replace the battery. It should be a 9 volt.
It is also possible that your smoke detector went terrible too. They should be changed every 10 being anyway. Buy a new one that is the same brand. There should be a couple of wires in the back of the smoke detector that unplugs. Swap them out.
Any idiot who tells you that a proper smoke detector is "not worth it" should be libel for any law suits when you don’t wake up during a fire.
