Ademco 330 Deluxe Home Burglar Alarm System
This is a small clip of me arming and dis-arming my burglar alarm system at home. I had a DSC Power 832 system in my home with motions and all windows/doors secured, but I came across this alarm system when a consumer upgraded. I resolute to place this system in because its cool and I reckon more reliable than the newer systems… It operates with a few relays inside. I never have to worry about lightning hurt. I do have a fire alarm system installed in the house that is an Ademco 5140 XM. Will have videos of that later!

My wife and I just bought a home with an ancient ademco alarm system wired in. there is a key switch like in the video downstairs and upstairs, and the box in the upstairs closet (also locked). The house came with no alarm keys. Anyone know how I would get keys and get the ancient alarm working? Or do I just need to let it go…it looks so cool and vintage…and I do see break in sensors and a lot of the doors and windows of the house.
Thanks! (feel free to email me at befaythful@yahoo.com)

Cool, you can hear the relay “clicking” in the background…LOL
You might as well place foil tape on your windows too for that authentic look.
These key switches have tamper switches which are on the panic loop. When you remove the key switch from the wall, it cause the bell to ring tripping the panic loop. You then have to go to the control box and press the reset switch. If you small the terminals on the back of the key switch, you will get the alarm to disarm but the bell will continue to ring because its on a further relay. So… its not simple to get around.
shorley a key sytem is less safe , ( Hot wireing)
When I worked for Young’s Security in Springfield IL, We always came across these ancient relay type alarms place in by a local alarm company. They were made by Ademco but branded “Dictograph” I only install new systems for everyone else but I like ancient alarm panels.. I will have to place some more up when I get some time.
Thanks.. I have the manual for this system. When I removed my simplified DSC system, and installed this control panel, I wanted it to look authentic. So, I installed door contacts on all the windows and doors which i place on zone 1. Then I installed contacts on the interior doors and place those on zone 2. So when we are here and just leave for work and what not, we only have zone 1 working. Then if we leave for vacation, I activate zone 2 as well. I also installed an Ademco 1011 Bell box outside. ;o)
Wow!!! This system is a excellent 25 to 30 being ancient now! Don’t see these anymore for sure! I have a manual for this system, if you’re interested…
I saw something like that branded by Disorder Alarm.
